Q: How to get rid of "canvas fingerprinting" pop-up?

Hello,

I'm on a MBP, Yosemite and Safari....

 

I don't know what day it started but about a week ago this popup window started appearing (when on my mbp, not the iMac which is what I'm using now) and I"m unable to advance to the website I'm trying to browse to until I choose "cancel" or "ok".  It says, "this page may be attempting to use canvas fingerprinting to identify you. If this is unexpected and you are not on a site you trust, click Cancel." It also mentions if you see a British flag...

 

I"m feeling fairly stressed about this. I ran Etrecheck and it did show that SpiGot was on my system, so I've deleted that, restarted my computer, changed homepage from google to Apple.com and have set safari preferences to accept no cookies as well as set to please don't track.

 

Any other suggestions? 

 

I have some new memory but now wondering if I"ll be backing up some sort of malware -- at a loss and feeling like I'm about to get my system compromised if it's not already compromised?!

    Getting rid of browser hijackers is simple — Force Quit Safari ( --> Force Quit --> Safari), then restart in Safe Mode by holding down the Shift key.  This prevents any previously opened windows and tabs from reopening.  Also, post screenshots of your LaunchAgents and LaunchDaemons folders, then go to Safari Preferences --> Extensions and delete any you don't remember installing.

    I just ran this after removing all the safari extexsions (i was using a few Adblockers and ghostery) and I did a restart holding the shift button.

    Uninstall Adobe Flash Player completely according to the following instructions:

    i was able to remove the pop up after going through your suggestions but now m going to just back it all up, wipe it clean and start frest along with adding more memory.
