Q: Bluetooth headset causing music library to autoplay after ending calls
Problem summary: any time I hang up a call using the bluetooth headset while the phone is locked (screen is off), the phone will begin playing music from my music library within a few seconds.
Here is some more detailed information:
- This is currently occurring on an iPhone 6S Plus (ios9), but also occurred on my iPhone 5s (ios7).
- This occurred with 2 different bluetooth headsets, although they were both the same model (Plantronics M50)
- It doesn't matter if I close the Music app prior to making the call or not; it will play music when I hang up either way
- The song that it plays appears to be random. It's not necessarily the last song I listened to, nor is it the one that would have come next on the playlist.
- This is not an intermittent issue; it happens 100% of the time the following takes place:
- A call is active through the bluetooth headset
- The iPhone screen is off: either because I hit the power button to shut it off, or it turned off on its own during the call.
- I use the button on the bluetooth headset to end the phone call
I have discovered several workarounds to this:
- If you hit the power button so that the screen lights up before ending the phone call, the autoplay will not occur.
- If you unlock the screen and hang up using the red hang-up touchscreen button, the autoplay will not occur.
- If you power off the bluetooth headset immediately after hanging up (before the 2-3 seconds that it takes the music to begin playing), the autoplay will not occur.
I thought this may have been an issue with my old phone, so I never looked too far into it. Since it now appears to be unrelated to the specific phone or OS, I'd love to get some feedback from you guys on this.
Thanks
iPhone 6s Plus, iOS 9
