Q: Macbook battery not working

My battery has charged fine, no problem whatsoever. It will run between 2 and 5 hours on a full charge depending what apps I'm using. However, about 20 minutes ago, i was charging it and it said it was full. I unplugged it and it switched off straight away. The battery life indicator says it needs replacing but says I should still be able to use it. It works fine on mains power, but shuts down as soon as I unplug it. When i press the battery life button on the side, all the lights just blink. Is there anything I can do because not only can't afford one until next month, but I need a working laptop by the end of the month. Please anybody help?

MacBook Pro with Retina display, iOS 9.2.1

Replace the battery. Don't wait, you'll have a working computer with a battery that will be good for years to come.

The only other real choice is to remove the battery and use the MacBook as a desktop computer connected to AC power.

    Best of luck.

Be advised that without a charged or working battery the computer will not run at full power as it needs both to function as it should. You will find it slower.
