Q: Final Cut Pro Trial Projects not appearing in full version

Hi,

I was working on some projects on the trial version of FCP.

After the trial ended I purchased the full version believing that the work would automatically transfer to the new version.

However this hasn't happened... Is there any way to retrieve the work and files done on the trial?

Thanks for your time and help!

Have a look in your Home>Movies folder for an FCP X Library.

    That is the default location.

You may have given your Library a unique name.

    Hi,

Unfortunately when I went into the movies folder I could not find my project's library. It has strangely saved multiple copies of one small project but not the one I was working on the whole time.

Is it possible it deleted it when installing the full version of FCP?

    This is very frustrating....

TThat's not possible. Did you do a Finder search for the library in all locations including system files? Did you use a third party app, some kind of app cleaner, to uninstall the trial version?

It's possible, but not at all likely. You would need to go out of your way to trash a library or its contents; it wouldn't just happen.

Suggestion: do a Spotlight search on .fcpbundle. It should return all the libraries on your system. 9Among those libraries will be date-stamped automatic backup libraries – also, but default, located in the user's Movies folder.) Any libraries that you created in the trial version, as well their backups will be among the libraries returned by the search. Once you know their location, you ccan open them by double-clicking the library icon or by navigating to them from the Final Cut File menu.

    Good luck,

    Russ

    Hi,

Found the library. Lets just say this is an excellent lesson in learning to name your files properly

    Thanks for the help.
