Q: root password not working

Even after resetting the root password from Directory Utility I still cannot run sudo. It should be simple: open terminal, run su or sudo <program>.

 

I'm at a loss.

The two most common issues with sudo are: (a) you need to run it from an account, e.g. 'myadmin' that has administrator privileges, (b) it requires the login password for the 'myadmin' account not 'root'.
