Q: iPhone Battery Usage Issues - Again

Since upgrading to 9.2.1 (I skipped quite a few versions to get straight to this version) the battery consumption has sky-rocketed?

My battery is only about 6 months only, but barely lasts for the day now, even after being left on the charger for the entire night.

When I get home it is just about to die, so I recharge it for 1 - 1.5 hours (reaches 100%) then I need to put it on the charger again before going to bed otherwise it will be dead in the morning when I wake-up.

I have noticed the new "Battery" feature, as the message comes up stating to go to "Low Power" mode when you get to 20% or less.

When I look at the Battery Statistics I see that Siri uses the most powe, and just below Siri is a line that states: Low Signal.

I have turned Siri off (but maybe not), but Siri is still using the most power and the Low Signal message is still showing?????

    Hello whyisitsotom,

Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities!

I understand that the battery life on your iPhone is not as long as you would expect and when you look under Settings > Battery to view which apps or services are using your iPhone’s battery, you see a notification that says Low Signal below Siri.

To help make sure your iPhone is giving you the longest battery life possible, I suggest reading over the following article which includes information on optimizing your settings.

Batteries - Maximizing Performance - Apple

The next article explains Low Signal and Low Power Mode in more detail as well.

    Cheers!

Thanks for replying and letting us know that these steps have not helped your battery life.

Because the previous information has not helped your iPhone's battery life, I suggest contacting AppleCare directly. Contacting Apple Support will allow us to dig in to this specific situation with your iPhone and provide you the best support possible.

    Thanks joe_7399,

I went to the Apple Store, but because I had previously had the battery replaced, with a non-genuine Apple Battery, they could not do anything for me .

They did not even run their diagnostics software on my iPhone, even though I made a Booking and had a 10 minute time-slot allocated to me (not sure how long this would have taken or if they would have needed to take my iPhone apart to do this).

This was my first encounter / visit to an Apple Store, apart from not getting my issue fixed this time, I would recommend using this great resource available to all Apple Product Owners.....

I am happy for this discussion to be "locked off" now, as I feel that the information I received was solid and lead me to the correct resolution steps.
