Q: iPhone Backup on Macbook Pro

Storage in iCloud is full. So, I selected option to backup my iPhone on my Macbook Pro. But I'm not able to see the backedup data on my macbook. Please let me know where I can find it.

Also, want to know if I delete photos from iCloud to free space, will they be deleted from Photos also?

MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Mid 2014), OS X Yosemite (10.10.2)

    iPhone backups using iTunes are stored on the computer in a format that is meant only for restoring to an iOS device. The backup location on a MacBook is shown in the quote below from Create and delete iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch backups in iTunes - Apple Support

    The folder where your backup data is stored depends on your computer's operating system. Make sure the backup folder is included in your data-backup routine. iTunes places the backup files in these places:

    • Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/
      The "~" represents your Home folder. If you don't see Library in your Home folder, hold Option and click the Go menu.

    If you want to see photos on your Mac, one way is to import them: Import photos and videos from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to your Mac or Windows PC - Apple Support

    The following has information on managing your iCloud storage: Manage your iCloud storage - Apple Support

    Thanks for your reply. But I don't see MobileSync/Backup/ in /Library/Application Support. Not sure if the backup is done on macbook or not.

    I was able import photos using iPhotos. I'm not able add videos on iTunes. I'm able to add music and songs in iTunes but not Videos or Movies. I was adding videos and movies on my windows PC from long time but it's not working on my new macbook pro. Please help with any settings to be changed for that

    As far as I am concerned, using iTunes to backup iPhone is fast. Launch iTunes and connect your iPhone to the computer. After the phone being detected, click the backup icon and you can choose to backup your data to "This computer". But I think it's safe enough for saving information on PC only, therefore, you can do a double backups, to computer and iCloud respectively.

    hard drive-->users-->'your name'-->library(if you don't see the library folder, right click 'show view options', enable 'show library folder')-->application support-->mobilesync-->backup

    or

    In iTunes, top menu: iTunes-->preferences-->devices

    Hope this helps!
