Sorry but it isn't clear to me what it is that you are trying to do.

Your post title includes HT201302 -- that is the following support article Import photos and videos from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to your computer - Apple Support which discusses copying photos from an iPhone to a computer. It does not involve either iTunes or iCloud.

iTunes can be used to sync photos from a computer to an iPhone as discussed in Sync photos from your computer to your iOS device using iTunes - Apple Support but it does nothing related to uploading photos to iCloud.

If you want photos to be uploaded from your iPhone to iCloud you do not use iTunes. You do it by turning on Settings > iCloud > Photos > iCloud Photo Library. See the following for more details iCloud Photo Library FAQ - Apple Support

If none of those help with what you are trying to do, please reply with more information. Apple has so many different options and possibilities that have to do with photos that it can be confusing (and hard for me to know what you may be attempting to do).

Thanks for the information.  Basically, I was loading photos from an IPhone to ICloud and the photos on this phone had never uploaded to ICloud.  It was taking a while and my question was "if I disconnect the phone with the upload be interrupted." ????

It was taking so long I disconnected the phone.  Hopefully, they will be uploaded via WiFi.

    Thanks for your reply!

There is no need to connect the iPhone to a computer to use iCloud Photo Library or for the automatic upload of photos to iCloud Photo Library. The computer (and iTunes) have nothing to do with the use of iCloud Photo Library on the iPhone. It is done via wi-fi directly from the phone.
