Q: how do you auto save as an iBooks file from a Safari PDF page

several versions of Safari ago when ever a large PDF document such as an NTSB accident report was displayed in a Safari tab there would be a button in the upper right of the first page of the document that said "Save to iBooks" and when you clicked on it the document would become part of your iBooks library and available on your iPhone or iPad as well as on the computer.

this was very handy and I miss it.

Is there a way to get it back? is it an option I need to select somewhere?

I feel you, that was the sort of shortcut I used to think of as very 'Apple'. Although being Apple they would have referred to it as "One of over 200 new features in the latest OS version" :-)

Anyway, for anyone stumbling on this, the new quickest way seems to be to save the pdf (to documents or downloads, wherever), then in iBooks go to File->Add to library and navigate to the saved pdf.
