Q: Ipod classic dropped and is now asking to be restored

Long story short, My ipod dropped on the floor and immediately after it asked to be restored through itunes. I plugged it into my computer and itunes completely freezes up and the ipod screen asks to not disconnect (as well as charging a spin circle in the top left) - I own a ipod classic 7th gen 160gb I'm not sure if this is hard drive issues or even battery issues for that matter but if anyone knows if I'm able to get it fixed would be a great help - thanks

Since this happened after a drop, it is more likely to be a problem with the hard drive.  Try putting the iPod into Disk Mode

Then connect it to your computer running iTunes.  If iTunes picks it up, it may prompt you to do a Restore with a message about "recovery."  Let iTunes do the Restore.

If the iPod does not go into Disk Mode, or the Restore fails, the iPod's hard drive is likely to be faulty.
