Q: Touch id issue in 6s?

I've seen videos about touch id 2.0 on i6s, and how accurate is it on reading wet fingers without any problem because i6s has a better and more accurate sensor. Now, i've tried to do it with my 6s and it can't read it. I even have a friend who owns an iPhone 6 and can unlock his iPhone with his wet finger. I think it could sound a little ridiculous; but sometimes, now in summer specially here in my country, i got my fingers sweated because of the weather, and when I tried to use my phone, I am not able to unlock it until I clean my fingers and the sensor, wait some seconds, and then retry to unlock the cellphone, which sometimes is really irritating. I was wondering whether if it's a hardware of software problem, and if I should execute the warranty. Thanks a lot for any comment or help you can give me. Greetings (Y)

See the article razmee209 cited above. Especially the section:

If you still need help, follow these steps. Try again after each step:

    1. ...
    2. Make sure that your fingers and the Home button are clean and dry.1 For the Home button, use a clean, lint-free cloth to wipe off any dirt or debris.

I would think the security of the fingerprint ID system far outweighs the minor inconvenience of drying your finger.  A simple wipe on your shirt should do.  Do you really have to wait some seconds?  In any case, it seems a lot less hassle than having to enter a 4 or 6 digit passcode each time.

Yeah! Both of you are right! My question was more focused on knowing if I was the only one with that "problem". Touch ID works well when my fingers are dry, but I noticed that detail of wet fingers w/ touch ID and I was wondering if my iPhone could have something wrong on the sensor because those videos and my friends doesn't have that problem. I assume that both of you also can't unlock their iPhones with wet hands. Thanks for your comments, I guess it's only luck of something else. I hope more people could tell me if they are in the same situation

Did you read the link I posted: if you did then you would know it isn't a software or hardware issue.

    As it states:

    Get help with Touch ID

Sometimes, you'll need to enter your passcode or Apple ID instead of using Touch ID:

    • If you've just restarted your device
    • If your fingerprint isn't recognized five times in a row
    • If you haven't unlocked your device in more than 48 hours

    • If you've just enrolled or deleted fingerprints
    • If you're trying to open Touch ID & Passcode in the Settings menu
    • If Require Password is set to Immediately under Settings > General > Restrictions

If you still need help, follow these steps. Try again after each step:

    1. Make sure you have the latest version of iOS.
    2. Make sure that your fingers and the Home button are clean and dry.1 For the Home button, use a clean, lint-free cloth to wipe off any dirt or debris.
    3. Your finger should cover the Home button completely, touching the surrounding metal ring. While Touch ID is scanning, you shouldn't press down hard, tap too quickly, or move your finger around.
    4. If you're using a case or screen protector, make sure it doesn't cover the Home button or the surrounding ring.
    5. Tap Settings > Touch ID & Passcode. Make sure that iPhone Unlock or iTunes & App Store is on, and that you've enrolled one or more fingerprints.
    6. Try enrolling a different finger.
    7. If you can't enroll any of your fingers, take your device to an Apple Retail Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider, or contact Apple Support.

1 Moisture, lotions, sweat, oils, cuts, or dry skin might affect fingerprint recognition. Certain activities can also temporarily affect fingerprint recognition, including exercising, showering, swimming, cooking, or other conditions or changes that affect your fingerprint.
