Q: Just upgraded to El Capitan. My MF4350 (USB) now won't print. It keeps pausing itself. I have tried reboot, on/off, re-install drivers, etc. Suggestions?

Just upgraded my 2009 MacBook  OS to El Capitan, iOS 10.11.3. Now my Canon MF4350 (USB connection) won't print. When I try to print, it says "Printing" and then turns to 'Paused." It scans fine, using MF Toolbox.  I have tried rebooting, disconnecting and reconnecting the printer, turning everything on and off, and I uninstalled and re-installed drivers, etc. Another all-in-one (Brother) I have in the house works the same as before my upgrade. My other applications seem to work normally,  Suggestions?

With the scanning still working I would suggest an issue with the Canon MF driver. I would remove the printer from Printers & Scanners and then open Finder and select Go > Go to Folder. Then type or copy the following

    /Library/Printers/Canon

and press the Go button. In this Canon folder you should see a folder with CUPS_Printer in the name. Trash this folder and then restart the Mac and then install the latest version of the Canon UFR2 driver. Once the driver installation is complete, add the printer again and then see if you can print.

    Thank you, Pahu!!!

I am grateful for your quick response (I wasn't able to try this until I finished using my laptop for work this morning), and thank you for giving me back my printer/scanner.  I am printing up a storm. I did exactly what you said - and it worked just like that.
