Q: safari could not open the page because the server stopped responding

HI,

Recently I receive the following error message in safari on my iphone 6S: "safari could not open the page because the server stopped responding": none of the websites are working, instagram, facebook etc., so it's like I do not have internet access, although there are multiple apple devices connected to the same wi-fi network and those devices loading sites perfectly, so the internet connection is good. I'm getting this error message a few times in a week, quite unexpectedly. If I turn on and off the wi-fi, or resetting network settings, clearing cache and website history the internet is back. But it is really annoying that I get that error message and have to do the mentioned steps to get internet back on my phone. When I get the safari could not open the page because the server stopped responding message I tried to switch to another browser, like chrome, but it is not working either.

Does anyone has any idea how to avoid that message in the future?

iPhone 6s, iOS 9.3

    Hello there bence2005,

It sounds like you are intermittently getting this issue where your Safari application is unable to access websites and you have to keep resetting settings, and emptying the cache to get it to work again. I would test the device on another Wi-Fi network, even though your other devices work fine, there could still be an issue with the router. If it works on another network, then I would unplug the router you use for 30 seconds, and then test the issue out again. If it does not then I would next backup your device to iTunes, then restore it as new and verify that it works.

How to erase your iOS device and then set it up as a new device or restore it from backups

If it does, then restore your backup to either verify it still works and the software just needed reinstalled, or isolate the issue to the backup file itself.
