Q: Issue watching KODI using HDMI cable MacBook Pro 13"
Hello, I have a MacBook Pro 13 inch with Retina display; 2.9 GHz Intel Core i5 processor and a an Intel Iris Graphics 6100 running iOS EI Capitan 10.11.3.
My MBPro has an HDMI port that I am suppose to be able to connect to and watch on my TV. When I connect the HDMI to the TV, I have encountered a few scenarios.
My desk top appears on the TV (although it is an altered version of my desktop in that most of my icons do not appear)
I can hear the show on the TV but not see the movie on the TV; KODO is still playing on the MBPro.
I can watch KODI on my MBPro but I would prefer to watch it on the big screen.
I have tried:
connecting cable before I boot up,
connecting cable while KODI is running
go to System Preferences / Display and selecting and un-selecting AirPlay and Mirroring and I really have no idea what if anything else I can to to resolve this issue.
Please help.

With the HDMI connected, the default display arrangement will be one desktop for your Mac and one for the TV.
You can drag the KODO application window to the TV screen to view it there. See System Preferences > Displays > Arrangement to see where the TV is set, probably to the right of the Mac display. You can also drag the TV display to a preferred location in there too.
Alternately, if you select Mirror display in System Preferences > Displays the two screens will display the same content.
