Mar 21, 2016 3:56 AM in response to jose_08by andres1712,I also follow the same guideline mentioned by Dr_O In opening various tabs within Safari to help internal navigation but linking between Mail and Safari still kaput!
And if you want links to external sites to work, then the CloudMagic, Chrome substitutions (mentioned above) work >90% of the time. It's been over a month and keeps on working. Always.
THe complement of Fantastical to Calendar has also been working for about a monrh.
I recently added a VPN manager, TunnelBear, which has no hyperlinks and thus works like a honey. I have to travel and thus connect from Spain to sites in UK which require presence within the UK. Also connect to some such sites in the USA. This has been working for about a week.
OF course, these are temp measures until Apple fixes...

Mar 21, 2016 4:13 AM in response to Dr_Oby StephanJC,Hi folks,
the complete reset of the device is in fact the only solution working in the moment.
But, what ist with the 50 Gigs of documents, pictures, videos, business data, settings, content of IT remote control apps, bookmarks and and and ...
Theye are on the iPad and kept in the iCloud as backup and as iTunes backup on a local computer, and nowhere else! So I have to rely in my 128 Gb, iPad Air 2, which was bought to do that job. Starting from scratch is no alternative for me and I am sure for a lot of other people no alternative as well.
Apple will hopefully bring a fix with the upcoming IOS 9.3 or they will be asked why they are not able to do their job anymore!
Beside many new features which came up in the last years the number of bugs increased dramatically. Smooth working software is part of the product quality, just presenting fancy and expensive new hardware is not sufficient!
It is really more than annoying if the most important worktool one has got fails from one moment to the other in functions of central importance . My iPad is not a toy!
We will see what comes next.
Stephan

Mar 22, 2016 2:28 AM in response to Mrs C Spainby Mrs C Spain,I have updated iOS from 9.2.1 (Build Version 13D15) via iTunes to iOS 9.3 (Build Version 13E233) and nothing has changed...
I don't intend to do a full reset of my iPad Air 2 as it isn't assured it will correct the issue and I don't have time, energy or inclination to go through reinstalling all my apps and their data, it's just not feasible.
Someone said Apple is aware of the problem and is working on a fix... Get on with it then - it's no good bringing out new iPhones and new iPad Pros if the software isn't up to scratch, and it quite clearly isn't...
Apple's priorities now seem to rest with making money and rushing out new gadgets, rather than keeping existing products functioning properly and customers happy, which was always a big plus point for Apple... Not any more...
If I didn't have my iMac, I wouldn't even be able to add a comment to this thread... Maybe there aren't even more complaints because people can't get in!!!
I wonder what Steve Jobs would've had to say about it all?

Mar 22, 2016 3:16 AM in response to Mrs C Spainby morralletti,Now I have a new problem:
- iPad Air 2 updated to 9.3 from 9.3beta7 continues with the URL bug.
- iPad Air 1, updated to 9.3 too from 9.2.1, yesterday, starts this morning to present the bug. No new apps installation, no apps update... OMG!!!!
- iPhone 5 & iPhone 5S, updated to 9.3, are not affected, for now.

Mar 22, 2016 4:36 AM in response to Mrs C Spainby kpreblud,Well let me say I'm glad to have come upon this thread. Prior to reading this thread I began to think I was crazy. I have an iPad mini and iPad Pro and an iPhone 6s Plus. Fortunately this issue is, for now, confined to my iPhone 6s Plus with 128 GB memory For me, this issue didn't rear its ugly head until about one week ago. I had thought the 9.3 final software would solve the problem, but sadly it didn't.
Like most of you I'm disappointed that this serious issue has been going on for so long, and there hasn't been any response from Apple.
That said, I have found, what for me is a viable workaround. My biggest frustration is the inability to open hotlinks from within the mail program. I have installed The Microsoft outlook app and change the setting within the app to open links in chrome rather than safari
So far so good. Kind of ironic that in order to use my iPhone 6s Plus to its fullest capabilities, I must use Microsoft's mail program and Google's browser.

Mar 22, 2016 5:12 AM in response to Mrs C Spainby Dr_O,I don't believe that Apple is monitoring its community. Otherwise someone would have written something in this thread. There are two other ways to bring this matter to their attention.
1. http://www.apple.com/feedback/ At which we don't know how deep that rabbit hole goes.
2. Twitter @AppleSupport. I have already tweeted but not received any reply. At least it is public.
Poor customer service.

Mar 22, 2016 5:30 AM in response to Dr_Oby radam10,I was very disappointed to do the iOS 9.3 release upgrade to find it did NOT fix the "URLs not working in Safari or Mail after iOS 9.2.1. I have emailed the following text message to Wired, PC Magazine, MACWorld and MACStories asking these IT sites to look into this issue, and I hope other users make similar complaints. I will also provide Apple feedback per the previous message from Dr_O. Thank you for that suggestion!
There's a lot of people, including me, unhappy that the latest Apple iOS 9.3 release still does not fix a very critical issue that happened in iOS 9.2.1. Please see the attached link to the
Apple Support Communities regarding the "URLs not working in
Safari or Mail after iOS 9.2.1.
There's a long stream of unhappy users with this issue, which appears to be very random. My wife has this issue on her iPad 2 Air, while I do not have the issue on a very similar iPad 2 Air, both bought at the same time, and upgraded at about the same time. Similar complaints have been posted by other users with multiple devices. There has been no "official" comment from Apple, although a few posts advise users complaining about the problem were told "Apple is aware of the issue".
Many were waiting for the official release of iOS 9.3 in the hope it
included a fix for this issue. I stayed up much of the night to upgrade my wife's iPad, and the upgrade did NOT fix this issue. Please look into this issue and report it to gain Apple executive interest. Long term Apple users (I have purchased 4 iPads for myself and family) are very disappointed by the lack of correction to the issue, as you can see from the User's Community posts.
Many thanks,
Ron Adam

Mar 22, 2016 6:02 AM in response to Mrs C Spainby Joever_there,I hope they see the flaw in their strategy. I'm not buying a new device to overlay with my existing profile to only have the same problem on the new device.

Mar 22, 2016 9:58 AM in response to radam10by andres1712,HI Ron & fellow sufferers,
Tried leaving feedback to Apple via 4 browsers, Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Mercury... and could not. Seems disabled.
Guess new Apple policy on bugs is... ignoring customers? No presence here yet...
Like you, I've been with Apple for decades and have always seen some response, until now. So must keep on using TEMP SOLUTION indicated further up until perhaps 9.4?
Thanks to all enthusiasts and shame on Apple.
