Mar 22, 2016 1:08 PM in response to Marvin H.by Marvin H.,I should add that searching in Finder will return applications. If I search in Spotlight and click "Show in Finder" the finder window will have the application at the top of the list.

Then see if a Spotlight search returns your apps.

Mar 22, 2016 5:57 PM in response to Carolyn Samitby Marvin H.,I tried booting into safe mode and I had the same result with Spotlight. An interesting aside is that in safe mode for some reason searching in Finder also did not work.
In case it matters the account I am using is an administrator account. The machine is set up to be my office server.
I created a new admin account and tried the same operations with the same results, Spotlight did not find any apps.
