Q: Transfer photos from "events from my mac" on ipad to macbook pro

I recently had to get a new hard drive on my MacBook pro, and unfortunately they weren't able to recover any of the documents or photos from my old hard drive. I had always transferred the photos from iPhoto on my MacBook onto my iPad, and they still show up on my iPad under "Events from My Mac." I want to transfer them back onto my new hard drive, but when I tried to do so using Image Capture the only photos that showed up were those on my iPad camera roll. Does anyone know how to transfer the pics from "Events from My Mac" on the iPad back to my MacBook?

Thanks for any recommendations.

MacBook Pro (13-inch Early 2011), OS X El Capitan (10.11.3)

There is no application for the Mac that can see the iTunes synced photos on your iPad.

Either save copies of the photos to the camera roll by duplicating them, install an app on the iPad that can read the photos, or mail the photos.

Apples recommendation is to mail the photos, see:   Sync photos to your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch in iTunes - Apple Support

    • You can't reimport pictures synced from your computer to your device back to your computer. You can only import pictures taken by your device, or saved to it, from your device to your computer. If you need to retrieve synced photos from your device, email the photos from the device to yourself. Then download the photos from the emails to your computer.
