Q: Flashing folder with question mark

I have a MBP 2105 El Capitan.  I have a flashing folder with a question mark.

I tried Start C and Start command R with no luck?  Any suggestions?

The flashing folder means your Mac cannot find a startup disk to boot from meaning the disk is failing or has failed. Hopefully you have backed up all your important data.

Try starting up your Mac while holding down the Option key.

That should launch the Startup Manager window where you can select the startup disk. If that is greyed out, then you need to take your Mac in for service.

Holding down C on starts up from a bootable CD, DVD, or USB thumb drive (such as OS X install media) as noted here > Startup key combinations for Mac

That actually gave me a padlock and a place to type.  I put in my last passcode and nothing.  :-/
