If your computer is the first edition of the iMac G4 (15-inch 700MHz ) or later (17-inch 800MHz)

the display would likely need to be replaced. Parts inside the tilt-able panel are separate and

it would need to be taken apart (or a known-good similar complete panel and chrome arm may

be found online for sale, taken from a working other iMac of like vintage) to replace bad parts.

    {Your question appears to have been moved from ? to this iMac PPC (non-Intel) section.}

Either way, the display can be a chore to repair or replace. To replace the entire panel and the

chrome arm, invites one into the major take-apart of the half-spherical base; this is because

the support arm for the display is mounted up inside, so everything comes out to access that.

Identify your Mac by serial or model number (for your reference)

    https://www.powerbookmedic.com/identify-mac-serial.php

The image you posted appears to be of a 17-inch model, but the graphic specs seem to be for

a 15-inch; could you be more detailed in the identification of your iMac G4 early USB1 model?

    I have owned a early 17-inch iMac G4 800 model that could dual-boot OS 9.2.2 + OS X 10.x

it was different in several ways than the first 15-inch iMac G4 700 model; with more features.
{Also I still have three iMac G4 17-inch 1.25GHz USB2.0 models) The graphic card for the

17-inch 800MHz computer is higher than the earlier 15-inch (first model 700) or later 15-inch

that was released after the first 17-inch model. (The technical specs changed throughout

the production of the iMac G4; the last models were USB2.0, & highest specs.)

You may need to check online for the parts (see if powerbookmedic shows a list of iMac G4

parts; they have portable Mac parts. Maybe they have some for desktops) and see if the

iFixit.com site has anything about take-apart.

You or someone who can do this job, would need to know and follow exacting details. And

have parts on hand and also know where to get any others needed to restore the iMac G4.

    • iFixit repair guides only cover three models iMac G4; there are others they do not show:

    https://www.ifixit.com/Device/iMac_G4

powerbookmedic shows some iMac G4 parts:

    iMac G4 Service Parts

Exact identification would be required to match parts and instructions. And there may be a

link to an appropriate service manual online. The manual, linked in blue thread is not correct.

If you are not technically capable, you may be able to find a suitable authorized trained Apple

service provider; or just start looking for a working similar computer that has no damages.

{With a proper external display adapter (original equipment vintage by Apple) you could test

the graphics card to see if the defects you see in the attached display aren't due to the card

    by running an external display; a VGA adapter such as the early iBook G4 used will do.}

With more information, other links to get a better repair guide or parts source may be found.

Or try a duckduckgo search engine, or see what google brings up. Your original post may be

edited if the image of your business letter(?) may reveal personal information not in accord

with these ASC discussion rules; if the hosts find it inappropriate to the question.

    Good luck & happy computing!

K Shaffer has done a great job addressing the video issue.  As for the iPhone running iOS9, you need a Mac running OSX 10.8.5 or newer. Yours can run at most OSX 10.5.8. Given the complexity of the repair job and the other things you want to do you may want to consider purchasing a newer use Mac (at least one from late 2008 or so).

Youtube does not run well unless you kick your quality to 240p. Adobe stopped making flash updates for PowerPC macs.

Some youtube content does well enough if the web browser is upgraded to TenFourFox

from the maker's floodgap home page; there are PPC specific versions there to download

and they tend to favor HTML5 web pages because flashplayer does not work in Ten4Fx.

    • TenFourFox: a fork of Mozilla Firefox ESR38 for Power Macintosh & OS X Tiger/Leopard PPC:

    http://www.floodgap.com/software/tenfourfox/

    That's what my older PowerPC G4 'non-Intel' Macs use under both OS X 10.4.11 & 10.5.8.

And mine no longer run Adobe Flash.

If that should be a problem, to be addressed apart from the first question, just ask. Be sure

to let youtube content download before viewing, and of course use small viewer windows.

    Good luck & happy computing!
