Q: Can't login to iMessage and FaceTime

yup having the same issue here!

if you have two step security turned on then go to MyAppleid.com and create an App password for messaging.

Generating app-specific password doesn't help.

• Turning on 2-step verification - doesn't help;
• Signing out from iCloud in System Preferences - doesn't help;
• Signing on back - doesn't help;
• Signing on to appleid.apple.com with/w-o 2 step verification - is okay.

• Clean reinstall doesn't help;
• Turning off Firewall - doesn't help;
• Handoff between Mac and iCloud devices - doesn't work as well.

Another thread suggests that a Contact with Apple Support suggests there may be an issue with these two apps in the OS X 10.11.4 update.

Tried using the combo update and still can't login.

Likewise. Have reinstalled OS X El Capitan 10.11.4 and it makes no difference. Apple ID can login just fine to iMessage on a clean install of OS X Yosemite.

Also makes no difference if I use another Apple ID.  Can't login to iMessage or FaceTime at all.

Have tried making new user profiles, both logged in with Apple ID / iCloud and not.

Tested with an iMac 27" 5K late 2015.

Nothing works... I tried two fresh installs before calling Apple and they wanted me to try another - third - fresh install. When I questioned their reasoning they checked and realized there was an issue. I thought this would be fixed within hours. Still no sign of a fix. Really annoying.

Do not bother, it doesnot work...
