Q: Facetime and imessage - Apple ID will not sign in

I got a new Macbook Air yesterday. My Apple ID works for icloud, app store etc but when I use this for Facetime or imessage it fails to login. No error message received. Just continues to attempt to login in and nothing happens.

Any ideas?
