You may need to take a look at exactly what is loading on startup, no matter

who the user account(s) are and avoid some of those well-known problematic

items people mistakenly install because of an advertisement or browser popup.

Avoid the items (cleanmymac mackeeper and any of those) such as appear to

be advertised in the preceding links to advice already given. They prey on users

who don't know how to diagnose or know better sources of advice, and can be

more trouble on top of whatever your computer already has going on inside.

The admin user of the computer should be able to perform steps to see what is

running or available to the whole system. If you have 'automatic user switching'

enabled, that will slow down all accounts in general as it uses System resources.

If each user actually logs-in to use their account, be sure that none of them has

privilege or an ability to install third-party junk-ware; or have not gotten adware

in their browsers, among other things.

Older software than isn't compatible with the present OS X and/or other apps in

it, could slow down the computer too. A diagnostic process should be used to

see what is really going on in the computer; and in each user account.

    Good luck!
