Mar 24, 2016 9:05 AM in response to Wheaton24by Ralph9430,★HelpfulThe SIM card enables communication with a cellular data network. If you ordered a cellular iPad Pro with a Verizon SIM card it will either come installed on the iPad or there will be instructions for how to open the slot and install the SIM.

Mar 24, 2016 9:14 AM in response to Wheaton24by Michael Black,If by new iPad Pro you mean the 9.7" model, there is nothing to install. The 9.7" model ships with an embedded Apple SIM card so all you will have to do is go into Cellular settings and activate service with Verizon or whichever other carrier you wish to use. You can verify that yourself on the Apple iPad Pro web page under the FAQ.

Mar 24, 2016 9:22 AM in response to Michael Blackby Wheaton24,The new 9.7” model comes with a built in SIM card for AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile. If you have Verizon, as I do, you need to replace the built-in SIM card with the Verizon card. That’s what the Apple site says. I thought the IPad was locked so that the consumer couldn’t do this, but Ralph9430 indicates that there is a slot for the card. The card is being mailed separately.

There should be a Sim removal tool packaged with the iPad, or you can use a straightened out paper clip to press the release button and pop out the tray, then just place the sim card in the tray and slide it back in.
Then you'll have to setup a cellular data plan with Verizon.
You'll then be able to use the cellular network for internet access when no Wifi is around.
