Q: Trying to install a clean El Capitan installation

Hello friend, hi Community Support,

I would like to try install a clean copy of the OS X El Capitan. My Mac it's a Macbook Air i7/4GB RAM/SSD 256Gb mid 2011.

I did all the procedures to make a USB Bootlable with EL CAPITAN installed. I restarted the machine and hit Option Key.

The system recognize the pen drive device and I set the wifi and click on USB Icon and after hit Up arrow icon, pass a few seconds and a big forbidden gray symbol appears on the center of display and nothing more happens in my life :-(

The brand of the usb pen driver it's a unknow brand but high grade and great quality (fast write/read rates). The brand is Krosselegance.

What I have to do? I tried terminal command line and the app Disk Maker X, all of them works fine to do bootable USB Installation.

follow these directions, no one elses

Create a bootable installer for OS X - Apple Support

also 4GB RAM on that thing may not give you the performance you might hope for. Apple says 2GB, they are out of their cotton picking minds. 4 is better but your system will still be clamoring for RAM. Unfortunalty the 2011 i7 MBA is not RAM upgradable.

make a time machine backup in the event you install and make your computing experience a miserable one by accident.

I did exactly what the link says before and the process finish without erros. I already uses Disk Maker X and no erros displays. I already run El Capitan and just run fine, a amazing OS. Nothing to complain. I already uses Time Machine.

    Thanks any way Jimmy

    Problem solved guys, hey Jimmy,

I erased the install package and re-downloaded. I purchased a brand new Sandisk Pendrive 16 Gb in a reliable store (here in Brazil, the fake one is so popular that many people are fooled).

I used the already installed app Disk Maker X, hit El Capitan option and the app do the rest. I spent 40 minutos of installation. Just a boring process. But now the OS running so easy ;-)
