Thanks for the update on this. I too had to disable Kaspersky temporarily to get iBooks and the App Store to work.

    Hello everybody,

I'm having this weird problem for week now. From being not able to log in mac appstore it have expanded to Preferences -> iCloud settings, which I'm not able to change, but, surprisingly I'm able to read my settings.

    - /etc/host - reset

    - Keychain - reset

    - networking, everything removend and then readded

    still not working

    From console log:

    23/03/16 13:50:26,484 akd[397]: NSURLSession/NSURLConnection HTTP load failed (kCFStreamErrorDomainSSL, -9802)

    23/03/16 13:50:26,914 akd[397]: NSURLSession/NSURLConnection HTTP load failed (kCFStreamErrorDomainSSL, -9802)

    23/03/16 13:50:27,320 akd[397]: NSURLSession/NSURLConnection HTTP load failed (kCFStreamErrorDomainSSL, -9802)

just after my attempt to log into mac appstore.

    Any suggestions?

I just ran into this same issue.
The cause appears to have been related to a couple of extra keychains I had created for testing purposes.

I removed ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.security.revocation.plist, and then cleared out the extra entries in ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.security.plist and that did the trick for me.

Are you guys de-activating your respective security suites before further continuing? That's extremely important. Thanks!

    Hmmm.

If you do not have any Security Software then we need to look elsewhere. Have you updated to 10.11.4 recently?

The other main cause of this kind of problem is having applied all of the suggested workarounds failing to shut down completely and power up again to allow the changes to be embedded into the system. Simply turn to machine off and leave it for a few minutes to allow the power to dissipate from the circuits and then power it on. Many are in too much of a rush and do not allow for power to discharge completely and this can cause problems.

Similarly, when was the last time you shut down the Router and gave it a rest? This can also cause similar problems if it is not allowed to completely dissipate the electrical charge in the circuits before powering back up.

Are you running a Virtual HDD in Parallels or something similar? The latest Windows 10 MS AutoUpdate has been giving similar problems recently and that resulted in a new release of it earlier this week that fixed the problem.

    Perhaps re-read the thread.

I have already fixed my issue and was sharing my solution with others. I was merely pointing out that my issue had nothing to do with security software.

    Glad you got it sorted.

I must admit that I am not too keen on using the Keychain.

It appears to be a little temperamental at times.

I had similar problems at the very beginning that was caused by the setting up of 'Temporary' Users et al when trying to bottom out a problem.

Changing from "Require if certificate indicates" to "Best attempt" in the preferences of Keychain fixed this error for me.

However it was working perfectly fine with "Require if certificate indicates" before installing 10.11.4.

After trying all here suggested actions, this last one helped. So I cannot exactly say that this one alone is The Solution, but after removing revocations plist and cleanig up security plist I'm now able to log in to AppStore and Icloud account in Settings.

BTW, in my case, it has nothing to do with multiple keychain entries. I've created new keychain to solve this issue, which didn't help.

Can you share how did you find it?

    Thank you, jcmbowman

    M.

The revocation plist is tied to the "Require if certificate indicates" / "Best attempt" setting that DJ-Anon references.

I'm not 100% on how I got there as the solution. The process was: Reading the logs in console, isolating the common error message, determining that it was an issue with the verification of the certificate trust chain, and then going through and piece by piece resetting the OS X certificate verification settings.

I was running into the same issue as xMirek with identical log entries

Following guidance from jcmbowman and also based on reading http://www.tonymacx86.com/general-help/139274-ok-delete-file.html

I made a decision to move the following files to another folder to test

    ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.security.*.plist  -> ~/somewhereelse/junk

on doing that, all of my AppleID Server issues disappeared.

a file at com.apple.security.cloudkeychainproxy3.keysToRegister.plist was rebuilt immediately afterward, but none of the others were.

I am now able to update using App Store AND login to iCloud etc from El Capitan.

Thanks for your inputs guys, had been looking around for weeks on this!

    Tthanks dj ...

checking the updates installed in the App Store app ... it looks like this issue related to the OS update 10.11.4

My understanding of the Online Certificate protocol (OCSP) relates to checking whether a certificate has been revoked. this is done by contacting a server that maintains a list of revoked certificates.

Changing the OCSP to best attempt resolved my issue.

It sounds like the server that was being used to check whether the certificate was valid cannot be contacted.

    Thanks Phil!

I can confirm, after restoring the com.apple.security.* files I had relocated earlier, and then going back to the

Keychain Preferences and making the change to this setting, the Apple ID Server error has gone away.

This change certainly fixes the symptom, but Apple needs to step in and address the root cause of this issue.

It does seem that one of the servers that OS X depends on for Cert Revocation is invalid.
