I just had this problem on an iPhone 5.  It wouldn't update to iOS 9.1 and kept giving me that error code.

What finally worked for me was unplugging the phone and restarting it and quitting itunes, then entering the passcode on the phone so it was unlocked before plugging it in and trying to update.

If I had a nickle for every issue I've had with this iPhone and/or iTunes...

(Now i'm off to try and figure out why photos won't import any photos from this iphone....grrr.)

"El iPad [nombre del dispositivo] no se pudo restaurar. Se produjo un error desconocido [1671]".

Pude actualizar desactivando mi antivirus, que era el problema Por si acaso tambien verifique que el firewall estuviera desactivado y toda clase de seguridad, funciono una vez desactive Bit Defender (mi antivirus actual). Muchas Gracias :´)

I disable firewall of my Macbook pro. My brother's iPhone 4s with 1671 error can update to latest iOS right away via iTunes.

    I find this:

    • Update iTunes to the latest version to ensure that it is compatible with the version of IOS and the iDevice with which we are working.
    • Update the antivirus and run a full system scan for infections.
    • Install the latest version of the operating system.
    • Connect the iPhone or iPod Touch to a high-speed USB port (USB 2.0 or higher).

    Hi everyone!

I had the error 53 when my iPhone 6 screen broke and change it all up with the home button. Then I put the original parts of the phone and shows me error 1671 now on my Mac, and error (-39) in notebooks with Windows. Does anyone know how to fix it?

I can't go to an official Apple support because I'm from Argentina and here there is no official support.

I would really appreciate the help, thanks!!

I have encountered similar probelm ERROR 1671 when connecting with Macbook Pro, and different error code when connected via PC.

I have changed my iphone 5 screen for the 4th time, and when I was in Japan the phone updated into newer iOS. from then on my phone couldn't start it always got struck at the apple screen.

I have got back home put the phone into DFU mode and try to restore no luck, now it remains in DFU mode when the restore when half way it will then report an error. I have checked with the iFix they stated that error 1671 is a logic board damage.

Could anyone confirm if 1671 is a logic board damage?, if so I will not struggle with it any longer. But do wish that there could be some solution, still want to use iphone 5 as i bought it with my savings.

I just been onto Apple Support this rectified it....

your phone must be off then.....

Plug your device into your computer with a USB cable. Hold the Power button for 3 seconds. Hold the Home and Power buttons for 10 seconds Release the Power button but keep holding the Home button After about 15 seconds you will be alerted by iTunes saying that it has detected a device in Recovery Mode.

Then restore as normal from a previous back up!!

This still doesn't work for me.  When it comes back on it goes to the connect to iTunes screen and nothing happens
