Q: after updating to iOS 9.3 the links in Safari and Mail do not work

After updating to iOS 9.3 the links and Safari do not work. Overtime i search in google the results list shows but all the links do not work and Safari gets stuck. Same thing in Mail. So in Safari i should type the exact address to see that particular website or link

iPhone 6, iOS 9.3

I have the same problems as everyone else, but I haven't yet updated to 9.3...!! My phone didn't even tell me (and still isn't showing) that there is even an update abailable unless I open the updates tab. Links in mail and safari freeze the app and lnks in chrome will only open in new window if I hold do the link for severs seconds. Many other apps are just closing down or freezing whenever they want. My smartphone (6) is not so smart...

It's impossible to know as they hide away and don't make full use of social media like the other blue chips. I guess we'll only know if a new release becomes available.

Since disabling JavaScript is stopping a lot of website to function I've done something else:

    go to http://google.com/webhp?nord=1

save this page to your homescreen for simple access

You're now using google via http (instead of https) and links are working.

Just returning to results doesn't function. You have to go back to blank search page, but at least you can search and go to a search result again.

    HI All,

I got a response that Apple is looking into this issue aggressively. See response below"

"Just wanted to give you an update, it looks like engineering has confirmed this is something they are actively investigating now. I would suggest keeping your iOS up to date as its likely that any potential resolution may come via a software update. I will keep in touch with you if another resolution comes available.

    Thanks for your time"

    Let's hope this get's fixed soon !

For what it's worth, I just read this thread on Easter Sunday, and when I switched my search engine in Safari to Bing, the one link I then tried did work correctly.  Before I did that, I opened my google email and tried clicking on one link in one message in my inbox, and that also worked correctly.

I know this doesn't help those of you who it doesn't help, but it's one more voice in the wilderness with one more piece of experience.

The irony of trying and not being able to use one's iphone to try to find solutions to a problem the iphone is having has not escaped me!

Now then---10 minutes later, here's another data point, and this one is much curiouser than the first!

I just stood beside my wife, who has exactly the same phone as I do.  She verified that she installed ios 9.3 sometime between 48 and 72 hours ago, in the past few days.  For me, I did it 24 hours ago, on Saturday morning.  She verified she's using Google in Safari.  She typed in a search phrase and Google displayed the usual list of links.  She then clicked on one of them and it worked perfectly!  I hate her!

We verified her Safari settings and mine are identical.  We checked both phones for software updates and both phones reported our ios 9.3 is up to date.

So I then went to my Safari, entered the exact same search phrase, got the same set of links in Google, tapped on exactly the same one she had tapped on that worked for her, and guess what!  Nothing. Nada.  Zilch.  Zip.  No action whatsoever by my phone!

    Go figure.

I have the same problem with iPad Pro, iPhone 6s, iPhone 6 pro.

Turning off java does not help, Chrome can`t open the links directly, you have to open it in a new tab.

Turned off java but it didn't help neither with Safari nor with Email. Waiting for fix from Apple. Couldn't even restore my iPad to 9.2

Links don't work in Safari with ios 9.3 neither on my iPad Air nor on my iPhone 6. They don't even work with Google's Chrome browser. Tapping on links simply does nothing while tapping and holding to see the context menu crashes Safari. Same with links from Mail.

After upgrading to 9.3 everything seemed fine but after a few days first my iPad and then today the iPhone went useless for any internet research.

No remedy helped. Neither deleting the caches nor deactivating JavaScript or any other tip in the forums.

What now? We buy the most expensive mobile devices and can't browse the internet? Ridiculous.

After 20 years of using Apple devices this is the first time I think about buying other products in the future.
