Q: Can't sync iPod and PC all of the sudden.

I have uninstalled all apple software mentioned and reinstalled iTunes. Still it will sync for a second but nothing transfers.

I have added 3 CD to my iTunes but they don't transfer to my iPod.

iPod classic, Windows 7

Does the iPod appear in iTunes?  You should see a small device button for the iPod on the horizontal bar that goes across iTunes window.

If the iPod appears in iTunes, click its device button to show the iPod's settings screen in iTunes window.  Along the left side (in the sidebar), under Settings, click Music.  To the right, the iPod's Music settings screen is shown.  Is the setting (checkbox) for Sync Music currently checked or not checked?  If it is not checked, checkmark it.  This turns ON automatic syncing.

NOTE:  Any songs on the iPod that are not in your iTunes library will be lost.

Below that, if your iTunes music library can fit on your iPod, you can choose the option to sync Entire music library.  Click Apply to sync all of your songs (including the new albums) to the iPod.  Going forward, iTunes keeps your iPod "in sync" with your iTunes music library, whenever you connect it (or click Sync if already connected).

Sorry.  This was no help at all and the problem occurs with Windows 7 pro and on another computer with Windows 10 and on two different iPods, all since the new 12.3.3.17 that I downloaded yesterday...  New songs will not download to either iPod.  New songs are now in the cloud and show as having been purchased on my Apple account, but do not transfer to the iPods or show as recently added on the iPods.  Have tried everything short of resetting the iPods and do not believe that is my problem since the iTunes update yesterday is the only change.

You problem is probably completely different.  You should start your own topic with your specific question, because it may cause confusion for the original poster.  However, as a brief suggestion, if "New songs are now in the cloud," they need to be downloaded to your computer's storage before they will sync to your iPod.  You cannot sync your iPod from songs that are only stored in iCloud.

I would recommend first and foremost to consider upgrading Windows 7 as there are link libraries that need to talk more effectively with the newest version of iTunes (Windows 10 is free, we love free things!).  And make sure you subsequently upgrade to the latest version of iTunes.  Best way to approach that, is to DL the iCloud app for Windows and run the updater.

Newer versions of iTunes have an embedded module called the Apple Mobile Device Management Module that is required to fully support iDevices.

Particular to the CD tracks not syncing...  With all things constant and if the stars align perfectly, you cant sync the content because the format isnt supported or there is inherently copyright issues with the content.

I'll follow up on your reply...

Mr. Watanabe:  My question was the same as that for this thread - That is how I found this thread...  So, I do not understand what you mean by starting a new (or different?) question and thread.

All was fine until after yesterday when I downloaded the latest update to iTunes.  This update has been done via two very different PC OSs and the result is the same.  I actually have three iPods, each a few years apart in age, all of which downloaded/synched just fine until now.

The newly purchased music has uploaded to iCloud, as it should have, and shows up on both PCs, as it should, and is on my iPhone, as it should be.  But, nothing is synching to my iPods anymore.  That is why I said that your fix doesn't work here.  I wish I knew what else you might mean.  Sorry.

Thank you, HyperNetFella.  I also tried this process on a Windows 10 PC, as stated in my initial message.  Please see my latest note back to Mr. Watanabe with more and/or clarified information.

I am not a techie, but I will study your note about this and try to understand what I might make of it otherwise.  Thank you for whatever advice you might add.

The way this forum is designed to operate, each user with a question should create a new topic.  As the topic creator, your question is more likely to be seen by other users.  And you can mark replies being helpful or as solving your problem.  More importantly, it can be confusing for the original poster when there are responses here for other questions, especially if the problems turn out to have different causes.  In this case, the original topic post is only a few days old, so it should remain dedicated to the original poster's question.

To create a new topic, go to the forum category, in this case

    iPod classic

Enter your question (as a subject) where it says, Search or ask a question.  You can then Submit your question and provide additional details about your specific question.

Exactly Terry I am having that problem with the new iTunes.

Also for the other this is for my iPod Nano. I have all updates for my OS and system as well as iTunes, etc and I am a tekkie.

Terry asked the right questions for my issues and we have the same issues.

Yes it does show up in iTunes when connected. When I updated to iTunes 12.3.3 the sync quit working.

I uninstalled iTunes, Apple Update Service, Mobile software, etc and even deleted from Registry. Then I re-installed iTunes, Quicktime, Update service, etc. Still am getting the same results.

This is copied from my first reply post in this topic...

Did you try doing that, to turn ON automatic syncing.  Others replied to that post, but you did not...  Your iPod may be set to use the Manually manage music and videos setting, so it does not sync automatically.

As I said below this started when I upgraded to new iTunes. On my iPod all the setting are correct for sync. My iPod does show up with all music in iTunes but iTunes is not sync new music and the iPod has the space to take it. It is set up for automatic syncing.

I have had this iPod for years it just stopped syncing with the new iTunes version 12.3.3

As I said below this started when I upgraded to new iTunes.

You never said you already confirmed the Sync Music settings is correct, which is why I asked; I can't read your mind.    It's possible for that setting to be changed to Manually manage music and videos, when you upgrade iTunes, without you doing it.  iTunes not syncing new songs is exactly what would happen if the setting was changed during the upgrade without you knowing.  So, if you're assuming (it did not change), you need to confirm Sync Music is still checked on the iPod's Music settings screen (and Manually manage music and videos is NOT checked on the iPod's Summary settings screen).

Otherwise (if you did confirm), you may want to do a Restore on the iPod using iTunes.  This erases the iPod, reinstalls its software, and sets it to default settings.

Use iTunes on your Mac or PC to restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings - Apple Support

Then, set up automatic syncing again.
