Q: URLs, cut / copy not working in Safari or Mail after iOS 9.3 update

After updating to iOS 9.3 on my iPad3 mini retina, url hyperlinks no longer worked by clicking on them (after Google, Bing search, in emails, etc.) and cut / copy feature also not working to paste into browser.  Online Chat with Apple suggested I turn off Java in Safari, which I did, and now clicking URLs works there but no where else.  Fix promised "sooner rather than later".

My iPad2 would not "activate" after the update, I had to make an appointment and take  it to the Apple Store where they wiped it and reinstalled the operating system.  I took it home and restored from iCloud backup.  Same issues with URL clicking not working, etc.

It seems to be something systemic. Right now there is no real fix that anyone has found.

I think all I can suggest is a work around. Perhaps another browser? I've found on the ipad that mobile safari has it's own set of unique challenges and another browser is handy. I use atomic but there are plenty of others so you can shop for one that looks good to you.

If you don't want to do that you might be able to hold your finger down on the links until you see 'copy link' come up. Then you can copy the link into the navigation bar and use Safari that way until the situation resolves itself.

    Hello craig293,

Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities!

From your question, I understand that hyperlinks are not behaving as expected after updating to iOS 9.3. We know how frustrating situations like this can be and we want to make sure your devices are working as expected.

iOS 9.3.1 was recently released. Performing this update should resolve this situation.
