Also, describe what you see on the iPod's screen when you connect it to your computer. It may also help to know if you use a Mac or Windows PC. If Windows, what version?

Mar 27, 2016 9:36 PM in response to james585by Kenichi Watanabe,If possible, try a different USB docking cable, to rule out faulty cable as the cause. If the iPod is not getting power, and its battery is currently completely drained, it won't do anything.
While connected to power, try doing a Reset (restart) on the iPod
