Q: Since updading to 10.11.4 the share contextual menu is not complete

Macbookpro mid 2012.

ElCapitan.

Since i updated to 10.11.4 the share menu point is not what it was before:

When I select a file in Finder, then CTL+click on it, then I select  "Share.."  from the contextual menu: then I get the choice "messages", "notes". Before there was a choice "Mail" also..

How to get this back?

Lex

    Hi,

Let me take the honor of answering your question.

Share button shows “No Service” or menu items missing?

If this doesn’t help, backup the computer and reinstall OS X El Capitan from OS X Recovery.

Before you try rebuilding the Launch Services database with that Apple HT203129 article (which sometimes doesn't work), check in System Preferences : Extensions :  Share Menu. Is Mail available there, and can click in its checkbox. If so, then just reboot afterwards and it should incorporate Mail on the Share menus.

If no luck with the first paragraph, there is a more thorough Launch Services command that Apple didn't offer that others have told me worked for them when the Apple HT203129 step did not.

/System/Library/Frameworks/CoreServices.framework/Versions/A/Frameworks/LaunchServices.framework/Versions/A/Support/lsregister -kill -r -seed -domain local -domain system -domain user

Once you have run this, reboot and then revisit System Preferences : Extensions : Share Menu and check Mail. If Mail is not on your Share menus, then reboot and check again.

If all of the above do not work, then dominic23's advice about reinstalling OS X applies.
