Q: Why AOL account keeps rejecting password?

My AOL email account password is "not verified."  How can I get the MAC to accept the password?

iMac (21.5-inch, Late 2013), iOS 9.3

    I had the same issue and this is how i resolved it.

     

    Open Mail > Window > Connection Doctor > double click on the account (i.e. AOL) > Then enter the password in the dialog box....it instantly populated my inbox....

     

    I am sure there is another way to get to this accounts box but I could not find it.  Hope it helps.
