Q: Touch ID Not Working after iOS 9.3 Update

Have you tried a Forced Restart. Hold down the Home and Wake/Sleep buttons at the same time for about 15-20 seconds until the Apple logo appears. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it comes up. You will not lose anything.

Did you search under SETTINGS >> iTunes & App Store if you're logged in with your Apple ID?

I'm having the same issues none of the suggestions work. I can't even attempt to set new fingerprints. It says failed before I can get started

Try the next steps:

1. go to settings -> touch ID & passcode -> enter your password.

2. unable iphone unlock and itunes & app store.

3. press home button and reset your iphone by pressing home and sleep/wake button

4. do the things described on numer 1 above.

5. now turn ON the settings you unable on step 2.

6. ADD A NEW FINGER PRINT.

Now your ID touch should be working.

Thanks for the reply. I have already tried that and variations of that process with no success.

When I go to the "Touch & ID Passcode" screen and select "iPhone Unlock." it gives me the standard screen for setting up finger prints for only a fraction of a second. Then a screen pops saying "Failed. Unable to complete Touch ID setup. Please go back and try again."

I am not able to even try enter the fingerprint page. It will not let me.

This has only began after upgrading to 9.3.

I have scoured forums on other sites for this issue. Nothing.

I am having similar issues and wondered if it was my phone (which is about to be at the end of Applecare) or the new iOS 9.3.  Touch ID to open phone only works about 25% of the time.  I never had an issue before this.  I deleted all my fingerprints and redid them.  I Force restarted.  I turned my Apple ID off and on.  Nothing has worked.

Exactly the same problem for me. This has only began after upgrading to 9.3.

Have you got the latest 9.3 that came out 2 days ago .if you have go to settings iCloud backup now .

Then restore iPhone back to factory settings .

After restore use same apple ID to get apps /data back .

exactly the same problem, Touch ID appears to be turned off in the setting and all my finger prints have vanished.

when I attempt to switch it on a get the 'failed please try again' message.

this has only happened since updating to iOS9.3

seriously considering a Android phone, apples iOS updates ALWAYS come with a long list of faults that surely should have been identified in testing

Even after restoring factory setting, the touch ID still doesn't work

I have just installed the new version 9.3.1 but it didn't solve the problem

IS anyone else also suffering from massive battery drain?? Plugged the phone in last night. It vibrated twice so I know it was charging.

wake up this morning and nothing, it's taken 20 minutes for the now useless very expensive phone to acknowledge the charger and start charging again.

Got the same issue, my touch id stops working since the latest upgrade, even when I installed the iOS 9.3.1. Been trying to contact the apple support but they just suggested me to go to the nearest service center
