Feb 10, 2016 8:28 PM in response to faresarby 1EleanorRigby,I'm not alone!!! You didn't mention if as you typed did your phone actually delete instead of type? Mine does and it then rand decides to type completely random letters or words. Mine will open Facebook and post random half sentences commenting to some other post. It opens youtube and all sorts
it's totally insane
it has to be hardware. My iPhone 5s had been a dream. This is a nightmare!!

Then make an appointment at the Genius Bar at your local Apple Store/Authorized Repair Center or contact Apple and arrange to have the phone sent in for service.

Feb 14, 2016 8:58 AM in response to 1EleanorRigbyby Dunerider,Yes, it was deleting, too.
My phone was under warranty. Apple sent me "loaner" phone (I had to give a credit card deposit). I restored from cloud backup.
I mailed the problem phone back. Several weeks later, they said to keep this phone. There was never an explanation of what went wrong, even though I repeatedly asked for an explanation.
Their silence made me suspicious. Not sure what it was about, but why not explain it?

Feb 17, 2016 11:19 AM in response to 1EleanorRigbyby MinerFortyNiner,For the past month or so, my touchscreen would continuously freeze, requiring me to turn off the screen and turn back on (not power down). That would usually fix it, though it would sometimes return. I have not had any problems with the touchid/home button, only the actual screen.
Today, it started doing the same thing as many have experienced. After unlocking, the screen would swipe back and forth, open random apps, and autotype random letters. It's basically as though it's sensing random touches on the screen, even though there aren't any. This occurs whether plugged in to a charger or not, although it seems to be less prevalent while charging.
I usually use an apple charger, only using an aftermarket charger in my car. I have a tempered glass screen protector, which I removed this morning when it really started going crazy. Removing the protector did not rectify the problem.
I plan to go to a Genius Bar, however, I suspect that won't resolve this. We'll see.

Why wouldn't it? If the device is defective, they will either replace the phone or the screen. If your phone is under warranty, it will cost you nothing.

Feb 19, 2016 11:15 AM in response to Meg St._Clairby MinerFortyNiner,Well, judging by other posts in this thread, plus doing additional research regarding this issue, it doesn't appear to be something that is fixable, especially at the Genius Bar... and my phone is not under warranty.
However, the issue seems to have dissipated in the last few days, although the freezing has continued.

Feb 19, 2016 11:32 AM in response to MinerFortyNinerby ajhedrick09,Do you have Verizon? Just curious because it seems mine only acts crazy like that when I have one bar of LTE.

Feb 19, 2016 1:14 PM in response to ajhedrick09by MinerFortyNiner,I do have Verizon, and I hadn't checked that. However, thinking about it, that seems to be when mine did it as well. I wonder what that has to do with it.

Mar 2, 2016 4:09 AM in response to MinerFortyNinerby patfrommunster,My iPhone 6 Plus bought (17/2/16) is behaving exactly as described in the discussion. It has happened twice, about two months after I got it, for about 2 days and again yesterday (1/3/16). This morning it is still typing away on its own and opening and closing Apps. Has anyone found the solution? I am on my way into the people I bought it from (Three), I bet the symptoms will have disappeared by the time I get to town. Will let you know.

Mar 2, 2016 5:38 AM in response to patfrommunsterby KiltedTim,If you'd bother to read this thread, you would know that this is a hardware problem. The phone will need to be serviced / replaced.

Mar 28, 2016 2:44 PM in response to chelychel22by exkites,Had same problem today with random apps launch on IPhone 6, it doesn't look to me like hardware faulty it's more looks like a hack. So I turned phone off, opened ITunes form laptop and changed password, than restarted phone and changed Pass code too. And volia seems like problem is gone!

Mar 28, 2016 4:09 PM in response to exkitesby Babybibber,HHad the same exact issue. Even restarted everything through iTunes. Took the phone to local Apple Store and they said this was happening with iPhone 6 plus. They took old phone and gave me a brand new one. So far no issues with new phone. Old phone didn't mess up till I had it for about 6 months.

No, we're just especially talented. And I'm flattered to be put in the same category as KiltedTim.
