Q: iOS 9.3 - Safari/Mail freezes after clicking links on iPhone 6S

Hi,

Never had any problems with my iPhone 6S. Just upgraded to iOS 9.3 without any issues. After the upgrade, I can't click links when searching something on Google in Safari or clicking a link in the Mail, the apps just freeze.

I tried clearing Safari history data/cache, closing all apps and restarting the phone (both regular and holding both home/power key), disabling all sorts of settings form Safari settings, but no luck.. Anyone with an idea how to sort it out?

Nothing works for me ... this is really incredible that you buy the most expensive celullar phone in the market and have to experience things like that ...

After spending hours of searching how I can fix this problem I have decided to reset my iphone. Apparently this decision turn up to be a lifesaver!.

    SO what you can do:

Go to settings->general->reset->Erase All content and Settings.

Once you have done that then SELECT set up a new iPhone and do not do any restore from backup. I have tried the latter one and nothing happened. The glitch still exists.

This solution is time consuming since you have to installed all the applications from the beginning. PLEASE avoid installing trip advisor cause this app create all the problems in my case.

Below I have listed the apps that I have installed after the restore and I know for sure that they did not create any problems in my iphone.

    —viber

    —whatsapp

    —snapchat

    —facebook

    —googlemaps

    —dropbox

    —google translate

    —tuneIn Radio

    —sygic gps

    —instagram

    —shazam

    —skype

    —hangouts

    sych.me

HOPE SO THIS SAVE YOU A LOT OF TIME !!!

I find it amazing that a company that prides itself on its supposed excellent customer service hasn't responded to all the hundreds of customers on this thread.  Terrible.

I did similar to get my phone working again

    1. backed up photos to iPhoto on mac
    2. (backed up my current phone through iTunes for a later date when a fix comes out)
    3. erased phone from the phone
    4. restored from a backup pre 24.03.2016
    5. immediately put phone into flight mode before the apps started downloading back onto the phone
    6. deleted the offending apps before they caused any hassle and were greyed out still
    7. came out of flight mode
    8. allowed the apps to download i was keeping
    9. working now (lost 2 weeks of text messages thats all)

    best of luck folks

I even downgraded to 9.2.1 after the problems with 9.3 Unfortunately the problem stays the same; no reaction on links in mail what sap, safari etc. Let's hope the 9.3.1 loves the problems SOON!

same thing here. First I had trouble only with Safari's links plus freezing, now also e-mails app. Safari problem is easier to fix: instead of google or other, use bing ( settings-safari)

I have just realized that all devices updated to IOS 9.3 does not have the same problem. I use iphone 6 plus and can't open links using safari/chrome. But my friend has iphone 6 and it works without this problem. Now I hesitate updating my ipad air 2 to ios 9.3.

Just did a reset to factory settings in general settings and now have full use of the phone with no freezing or loading issues. don't know how long this will last, but fingers crossed.

Nothing is working and my ipad is worthless at this point - still no fix from Apple??? Has anyone gotten a fix for this issue with the links?
