Q: Mail not showing messages in mailboxes

Since this morning my Mail application is not showing the emails in any of the mailboxes. Any suggestions about how to fix this?Screen Shot 2016-03-29 at 2.47.45 PM.png

I quit Mail and deleted the preferences file. After restarting Mail I can now see the messages in each of the mailboxes but when I select the option "Use classic layout" it doesn't change the layout. Any suggestions? The classic layout has been working fine for a long time.Screen Shot 2016-03-29 at 3.06.17 PM.png

After selecting "Use classic layout", closing the preferences pane, and reopening the preferences pane, the option "Use classic layout" is no longer selected.

    Hi,

In this thread Linc Davis has two Terminal Commands. Reset Home Folder permissions and ACLs Error

The Orange (Helpful) marked tests how many Files you should Own but do not.

The second (green Solved answer) shows you have to correct this.
