Q: What Charge/Sync Cable Does the iPod Classic 5th Generation Have

I plan to buy a 5th Generation iPod Classic. I watched a video, and I am confused on the cable I need to charge and sync it. Can I use a 30-Pin Charger to charge and sync it?

iPod classic, Other OS, First Generation, 5GB

It (5th gen "classic" iPod) uses the standard USB docking cable with 30-pin connector, for charging and syncing.  What is the source of confusion?

Well I know this iPod supports FireWire with an adapter, and I was watching a older DetroitBORG video and he says that FireWire was used for charging only (Either that or syncing, I can't remember), and I just wanted to make sure the 30-Pin cable can do charging and syncing.

A 5th gen iPod can charge using a FireWire connection.  It does this to support older accessories, such as docks, that use FireWire charging (instead of USB charging).  However, it does not sync using FireWire.  It is designed for using a USB port for charging AND syncing.
