Q: IOS 9.3 - Email on Phone Freezing and Links not Opening - Please send us an IOS update to Fix it soon !

Dear Apple IOS team,

This is a horrible bug in the "Most Used" application on the iPhone - "Email" .  Its there on all devices i use with IOS 9.3 - an iPhone 6 and and iPhone 5s.

IOS 9.3 - Email on Phone Freezing and Links not Opening - Please send us an IOS update to Fix it soon !

Even turning Javascript OFF for the Safari browser does not help .... because tapping the link inside an email does not even take you to  Safari.

We do really important stuff with links embedded in emails and the only solution today is to RETURN to a desktop !!!

So surprised the QA team on the  9.3 release did not catch this.

Pls send us an IOS release to fix it ASAP  There is no other solution ! unless you have one for us now ?

Thanks

iPhone 5s, iOS 9

Hi! You're not talking to Apple right now, it's a user to user forum.

Apple has just released an update that hopefully fixes the issue. Try updating your device using iTunes or an OTA-update and please let us know whether everything works fine again.

Which update are you referring to? my iPhone and iTunes both do not find any available updates since i updated to ios 9.3.

Apple Support, please advise ASAP. The bug is extremely frustrating and effectively stopped me and probably many others from considering other Apple solutions.

Apple Support is not here. They are not going to advise you of anything through this forum. If you want to speak to them, you'll need to contact them directly.  When an update is released, it will show on your device. And, in pretty much every major tech news outlet on the planet.

The web links issue hasn't yet been fixed, ignore my response about updating iOS.

BTW, you're not talking to Apple Support right now. It's just a user to user forum.

The bug has been reported and will be fixed soon. Wait a bit.

Hi Meg, thank you for the advise. I know that it is not a direct line with Apple Support, but definitely Apple has people monitoring discussions and forwarding reasonable concerns via the reporting chain. Do you know a proper way to roll back the update to 9.3?

I was hoping to get the issue resolved within a few days, but it obviously not happening. I am an experienced software developer myself, and I frankly cannot understand why this single and particular bug cannot be fixed overnight. with providing ANY minimally suitable update which will curb the growing frustration with the product and with the company in general.

No, really, they generally don't. Occasionally, engineers working on a specific project will go through the forums looking for data points. However, in this case, there would be no need for them to do that.

No, you cannot roll back to a previous version of iOS. Apple has already released one, more crucial update for an issue which was actually preventing people from using their devices.

Thank you for the reply. I regret i did not wait longer nor checked discussions before following the prompt to update the iOS. Lesson learned .

Several posters have reported that going to Settings>Safari>Advanced, and turning off Java fixes the issue.

    Nevermind......

Hello KK Mac User Since 1986,

Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities!

From your question, I understand that hyperlinks are not behaving as expected after updating to iOS 9.3. We know how frustrating situations like this can be and we want to make sure your devices are working as expected.

iOS 9.3.1 was recently released. Performing this update should resolve this situation.

If hyperlinks don't open in Safari, Mail, or Messages after updating to iOS 9.3 - Apple Support

    Cheers!

This has not fixed the situation. As a matter of fact I am freezing more now, and currently can't get into my phone. The touch function on my screen decides when it wants to work or not, and one second I'll be functioning normally and then all of a sudden not.

    HELP!!!
