Do you have any Audio devices in Device Manager? How was Windows 10 installed on this Mac? Was BC Assistant used?

Yes, in device manager I am able to see High definition audio controller with yellow mark. I installed windows 10 using bootcamp assistant.

Please download the BC drivers using BC Assistant to a USB Flash drive, and run setup.exe from the Bootcamp folder. If you run into any issues with RealTek driver, please see Bootcamp 6.0 driver install interrupted .

I followed your steps, but still audio is not working. . it seems windows 10 is not allowing to install RealTek driver. It is using windows default driver for it, which is not working.

Hi Loner T, in my case I am not stuck at RealTek driver. It is getting installed successfully as it displays the successful installation screen. RealTek driver is shown in control pannel's programs as well. But still audio is not working. At the task bar volume icon is marked with red Cross and when I click it windows trouble shooter starts and says it got fixed, but even after that volume icon is having red mark and not working. I checked the driver used for audio in device manager, it was pointing to hdaudbus.sys in system32/drivers folder. I tried extracting RealTek setup and tried to change the audio driver used from device manager, but for each *.INF file, windows says it is not compatible with the system please check whether it is meant for 64-bit system.

A 13-in 2012 MBP has Cirrus Audio drivers, not RealTek. This is from my 2012 MBP running W8.1.

    Hi Loner,

Thanks for letting me know the actual driver for audio. I tried installing that too but it did not work that way.

By doing lot many experiments I finally resolved the Audio driver problem in MBP.

    Steps:

    1) I created the bootbale flash using bootcamp and downloaded bootcamp 6 (windows support software) on the same flash drive.

    2) I replaced cirrus Audio drivers of bootcamp 6 with the cirrus drivers of bootcamp 5.1.

    3) insatalled windows 10.

It is working like charm now.

Excellent. Please back up OS X, Windows and create a Windows System Restore point.

One more point I wanted to add. It seems there is a bug with EFI installer of windows 10.

When I install using EFI boot, audio is not detected, but if I install using legacy boot(MBR type), audio is detected and working fine.

So, Whoever is trying to install windows 10 on macbook pro 13-mid 2012, try intalling using normal boot(do not use EFI boot).

    Thanks

This is not a bug. The 2012 MBPs are preUEFI and do not support EFI Boot fully. This is why Audio devices are detected correctly. It works properly using legacy BIOS mode for W7/W8/W10.
