Q: I connected an older iPod to my Mac, all the music, went away. I can't load anything new on the iPod. Is there an update for the iPod, or am I'm just out of luck?

It should still work.  Is this a 4th gen iPod shuffle (in your profile info), or an "older iPod" that has a screen?

I can't load anything new on the iPod.

Are you trying to load it manually (drag and drop songs on iPod in iTunes)?  Or do you want to set up automatic syncing (iTunes syncs songs when you connect it or click Sync) based on the Sync Music settings?
