Q: itunes sync issues with photos

I got the new iPhone SE and did a restore and the biggest issue was missing apps. I was able to get that fixed (just redownloaded every app). The issue I am having now is my iPhoto library saying I have over 5,900 photos, the box being checked to sync all photos, albums, events, and faces, but only 1,800 go onto my phone. Not sure what is happening or what is causing it (new iPhone SE, new update, new iTunes)? It doesn't synch anything prior to 2007 and my photos go all the way back to 2001.

Here is a shot of over 5,900 photos in my library

Here is the shot of it only syncing 1,800 of them.

I have restarted the phone, laptop and tried different cables to no avail.

    Quack,

It sounds like I am having a similar issue, but with a new iPad Pro 9.7.  I also have approx  5,000 photos across 40 albums.  I have these albums across my iPhone 6 and another iPad.  For some reason, only a few albums are showing up on the new ipad.

I have restarted the iPad numerous times, the computer, iTunes, started the iPad fresh again, synced countless times, but nothing has worked.  It's very frustrating when your new device will not behave as well as your old devices!

I don't think that the problem is the iCloud as jeffs55 suggests as I am not using iCloud to store my photos.

    Suggestions/answers are much appreciated!
