Q: Recopy iPhone in "portrait" via Apple TV on screen ?

Hi there,

For a friend having sight problem, we bought a 32" large screen, able to rotate Portrait and Landscape. It's an ASUS PA328Q

The idea is to let him see his iPhone in Portrait mode. Then he could be independant to read his SMS, mails, see icons, etc.

Throught Apple TV (3rd generation) and Airplay, the image don't rotate.

Have you any idea to solve this issue in a way or another ?

Thanks for him,

Franck

If I understand your intent, you want to create a supersize iPhone to deal with eyesight issues?

The only concern I would have is how having the large copy of the screen helps without being able to actually touch the large screen.  Having to look at the large screen and then look back at the small one and find the same spot to touch would be confusing to me.

    Hi,

Thanks for your proposal. However, yes, I activated what could help this friend (Voiceover, Siri, etc), things in Accessibility.

He just want to read SMS and mails. And few iBooks. Siri can be asked for...

He is also OK to manipulate his iPhone 6 Plus looking at a 32" screen.

I think the solution could be to forget Apple TV and connect directly with lightening cable interface (VGA, DVI, HDMI, we have a choice).

We'll be testing soon such connectivity and I'll keep you informed.

I think your cable idea is the perfect solution.  It is the cheapest and the simplest, and will be the most reliable.  Go with HDMI because you pick up the audio as well as the video.
