Q: Factory reset/erase iPod Classic on a Mac

I recently bought a used iPod Classic.  It is full of music that I do not want.  I would like to "restore" it.  When I get to the point where I enter my password in iTunes, the dialog box just "shakes" and noting happens.  Is the problem that I don't know the password of the person who originally owned the iPod?

Thanks!

When you Restore the iPod, you may get an authorization request window.  That is not related to iTunes or the iPod.  It is for your Mac's user account.  Enter the admin user account name and password, like you do when installing new software.
