Apr 2, 2016 9:40 AM in response to Atelier-Schwanenmarktby Eric Root,OS 10.9? Try looking in the App Store as it is not available for download on the Apple website. In the US, Mavericks has been removed from the App Store unless you previously downloaded it.

Apr 2, 2016 6:51 PM in response to nasser_hyhby BobHarris,Mavericks 10.9 is NO Longer available for new downloads from any legal source (illegal sources are not recommended).
If, while Mavericks was available from Apple, you had downloaded it at least once, then it will still be available for download in your Applications -> App Store -> Purchases tab.
The one possible alternative for getting Mavericks if you did not download it while it was generally available, is to make a Genius Bar appointment at an Apple Store and maybe they will install Mavericks for you.
If your Mac can install Mavericks, you can install the current version of OS X El Capitan 10.11.
If you are not ready to install El Capitan, download a copy and quit the install, so you will have a future option to download it again.
All downloadable copies of OS X can be quit when it starts the install process, and you can then make a copy of the Applications -> Install OS X <name>.app to be used to perform the OS X install on as many Macs that you own or control.
