What is the reason for needing to do a Restore

Does your iPod currently appear in iTunes when you connect it?

What happens when you try to do a Restore on your iPod?  Please provide more details about your situation...

    TTried to sync new music

it does show up in itunes

itunes said it encountered a connection prob

suggested I restore the iPod and I did  it was going through the sync process then I got error message 1403  / 1433 I believe

now it just says in that loop even though it deleted all songs

ipod has been rebooted/changed connection cord / diff USB port

been on on phone to tech sup

    een to Genius Bar

this is is older iPod but it has been connected to my car radio so very limited connecting or control use

it is controlled by the radio

now I'm letting battery drain totally with a hope of it fixing itself

    ??

Apple suggests these general steps first.  The document is for iOS devices, but the suggestions are applicable to older iPods

What did you try, based on that call?

I have done everything the online suggestion has to say

now I'm waiting for the iPod battery to completely discharge I don't know if that will do anything

i I may reload iTunes but the Apple Store tried and could not get it to restore

i Just think maybe there is some kind of "trick" to make it work

the iPod controls all appear to work
