Q: Mid 2010 Macbook Pro 13 Erratic Trackpad

MAlfunctioning trackpads can be the result of swelling batteries, but you opened and disassembled to replace the trackpad so would have noticed that I guess.

In addition, occasionally a very thorough cleaning of the trackpad will restore functionality.
Also take off the bottom panel and inspect the battery to see if it has expanded and might be interfering with the trackpad. If so, replace the battery IMMEDIATLY. It can damage the MBP.
