Q: XDCAM Trim Issue with FCP 7

Hello, for a 2 min trim it takes the whole XDCAM mov file of 100 gb.  even after providing handles and other settings.

We tried all options, is there any workaround for this?

Thanks,
Swami Trika

I'm sorry, your question is not clear to me.

Are you trying to export a sequence that was originally shot in XDCam?

Are you concerned about the exported file size. or the contents of the export?

Could you explain what you are trying to do?

    Thanks

    HI Meg The Dog

    thanks for the reply .

we use xd cam ex3 cam for shooting our footage.

after using log and transfer and doing the edit, when we finalize the edit for backup..while taking trimmed backup in media manager, we couldn't make a trim from the raw video. for example : if we have used only 2 min of the 20 min raw footage, the trim happens for the whole 20 minute video.

Even after specifying handles and delete unused media has been checked in FCP 7.

This doesn't happens often but sometimes...even after checking in different mac system the same issue exist for the specific project.

    hope this clarifies.

Give the footage REEL NAMES. That'll be what is needed for Media Manager to work properly.
