Q: I want to install an SSD but then change current drive to just normal storage
Hi, fairly new and amateur to mac OS, bought one after windows kept crashing on me
I have acquired an iMac 27" Mid 2011 currently running 4GB 3.1ghz i5 with a 1TB disk drive
Im going to attempt to install an SSD (never opened an iMac up before but ive read online)
I want to install a 128gb SSD Samsung 850 Evo and install another 4GB Ram
I want to install El Captain to the SSD but then change my current 1gb to store my music and photos,
I was going to install the SSD and then load up my current drive.
Then install el captain to the SSD keeping both drives seperate.
Then boot into the SSD and format the old drive and install all my necessary apps again
What do you guys think?
Thank You
iMac, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.1)
