Apr 4, 2016 10:10 AM in response to JaumerJTby Allan Eckert,I strongly recommend against the installation of any of the so called maintenance apps. OS X does not need them. They are know to cause far more problems then good. I recommend you uninstall it.
Afterwards please download and install EtreCheck from http://etrecheck.com/
Run it and post the report here.

Hello JaumerJT,
I designed EtreCheck specifically so its reports can be posted here on Apple Support Communities. If you are getting that message, I need to fix something. Can you e-mail that report to me? You can find my e-mail address on the Etresoft support page: http://etresoft.com/#support
Disclaimer: Although EtreCheck is free, there are other links on my site that could give me some form of compensation, financial or otherwise.

Apr 5, 2016 1:01 PM in response to Allan Eckertby JaumerJT,Allan finally found the culprit from the Etresoft developers.....it is under the kernel section
3rd and 4th line
before the -2012-11-17 there is a number 91 which apparently Apple considers an invalid Character
Here is note from developer
I think the cause is the ********** spam filters. They often include phone numbers that start with “91” and I must be triggering that. Thanks for helping me track it down!
In any case if you can look at my report I would appreciate any advice on speeding my MAC up

Apr 5, 2016 2:37 PM in response to JaumerJTby John Galt,JaumerJT wrote:
I downloaded a macreviver app and have not installed it.
Do not install it.
There are ways to diagnose and fix a Mac whose performance is not as it should be. None of them involve installing any product claiming to speed up your Mac. I am not familiar with "macreviver" but in general, those things are scams that are only likely to degrade performance, cause significant problems, take your money, harvest your personal information, lose your data, or all of the above.
Excerpted from Effective defenses against malware and other threats:
- Never install any product that claims to "clean up", "speed up", "optimize", "boost" or "accelerate" your Mac; to "wash" it, "tune" it, or to make it "shiny". Those claims are absurd.
- Such products are very aggressively marketed. They are all scams.
- They generally operate on the flawed premise that a Mac accumulates "junk" that needs to be routinely "cleaned out" for optimum performance.
- Trial versions of those programs are successful because they provide the instant gratification of greater free disk space.
- That increased space is the result of irreversible destruction of files, programs, or operating system components normally protected from inadvertent alteration or deletion. The eventual result will be unreliable operation, poor performance and random crashes that may not become evident for months or even years after their use, when updates to programs or OS X are eventually released.
- Memory "cleaners" that circumvent OS X's memory management algorithms work by purging inactive memory contents to mass storage, which can only result in degraded performance and accelerated hardware failure.
- Never install any product that claims to "clean up", "speed up", "optimize", "boost" or "accelerate" your Mac; to "wash" it, "tune" it, or to make it "shiny". Those claims are absurd.

Apr 5, 2016 2:52 PM in response to JaumerJTby John Galt, etresoft is uniquely qualified to interpret his program's results, but a couple of obvious problems stand out from that report.
- Back up your Mac if you have not done so already. To learn how to do that read https://www.apple.com/support/backup/. To learn how to use Time Machine read Use Time Machine to back up or restore your Mac.
- "Webroot" is useless garbage that cannot possibly convey any benefit. I recommend you uninstall it according to its instructions.
That may prove to be difficult, since I was unsuccessful in eradicating all of its pieces following my evaluation of it. Please read the following post for context: Re: Re: large number of open files/high process count. To ensure its complete eradication it may be necessary to completely erase that Mac and restore its content from the Time Machine backup. - Update OS X. To learn how to do that read How to update OS X and Mac apps.
- Google products including Google Drive, Google Chrome, Google anything are notorious resource hogs that run poorly on Macs regardless of their age or configuration. If you are required to use Google products expect a very limited useful life from your hardware investment.
Other problems are likely to contribute to your Mac's apparently poor performance, but those are obvious problems that need to be addressed.
