Q: Although "Continuity" is working fine, Calls and SMS are not working between MacOS X El Captain 10.11.4 (15E65) and iPhone 6 on iOS 9.3 (12E233)
Calls and SMS are not working between my MacBook (mid-2014) and iPhone 6. On my iPhone device, I "erased all content and settings" and used my existing iCloud account to set up the phone. Now, Handoff does not work for phone calls and messages (however, it's working fine with Safari and Contacts).
THE LONG VERSION
ORIGINAL STATE
Handoff working perfectly for Phone Calls, Messaging, Contacts, and Safari.
WHEN THINGS BROKE
I erased all contents and settings on my phone, then I set up my phone with my existing iCloud account (without the iCloud backup, though)
CURRENT STATE
- FaceTime: Whenever I try to make a phone call from my MacBook, it gives an error with the following message. "iPhone Calls Not Available: Your iPhone must use the same iCloud and FaceTime account."
- Message: Messages are not sync'ed between iPhone and OSX. However, continuity is working fine!
- Continuity is working fine for Safari, contacts and other apps.
WHAT DID I TRY
- Made sure to follow all instructions in this article: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204678
- Logged out from all iCloud accounts from MacBook (iCloud, Messaging, and FaceTime), restarted the laptop and logged back in iCloud (and all three services).
Both of the above didn't work.
